About us and our Blog,
Margot and I are well into our retirement years and continue to focus much of our leisure time on family and travel. We’re proud of our many years of combined public service in Alberta and BC but our greatest accomplishment has been the raising of our children. We have been blessed with two wonderful and successful children that have provided the real meaning in our lives. They have expanded and enriched our family with two magnificent spouses and five amazing grandchildren that fill our hearts with joy. We hope to spend as much time as possible watching these five little ones grow and hopefully share in some of their journey as well.
A significant retirement goal was to travel and see as much of our world as possible. We enjoy motorcycles, boating, and even walking but our favorite way of exploring is on four wheels. A longtime dream of ours has been to wander about Europe in our own motorhome for an extended period of time and experience the inexhaustible sights, history, and culture that it has to offer. To this end, in 2014, we set our travel sights on Europe. We purchased a motorhome in Germany in February and traveled Europe until late November. Our return home in late January 2015 was from West to East by way of Thailand, Viet Nam, China, and Japan. We again returned to Europe in 2016 for four months spending most of that time motorhomeing through Great Britain. We then spent some travel time on our own continent exploring North America in our own motorhome that we purchased in February 2017. Since then we’ve returned to Europe, Türkiye and Ireland traveling there in 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2026; all in the comfort of rented motorhomes from Dümo Reismobile in Germany. We understand that as we age, travel plans and circumstances will change but for now, we’ll keep on the move as much as possible for as long as possible.
The main purpose of this “Bruma Blog” is to provide a means of staying in touch with our family and friends as we spend as many years as possible capitalizing on our good health and freedom. This Blog will also function as a personal diary providing us with a photo book record of events and limited details of our trips. Our Blog is for anyone that may be interested in following along in our adventures and we invite you to join us at any time. Please feel free to post a comment if you wish. We are still preparing our trip in Europe. I still like read your blogue. I have one question: did you went in Afrique for a safari? If yes, where have been?

Hello from Sicilia. I just want to say mucho grazie for the blogue and all those informations that up you provides to helping us. We are still traveling Europe. 7 months on 14 are done. We are going home for Christmas but we’ll be back for the last 6 months. And you are right, Duomo are just great. I refer them as much as I can. Hi Bruma. Looks like you’ve had many adventures these past few years. All the best with your next trip once it’s safer to do so and all the best capturing it all on your new waterproof Nikon camera. Maybe look into doing some video clips of your adventures too, it’s a great little device for 4K video (4x the quality of HD).
